Classical Acting
This project is an apprentice scholar class for advanced Shakespeare students. In this project we study plays from different time periods giving the scholars an understanding of the history of drama.
We also study some of the elements of the heightened language of Shakespeare going deeper than we did in Shakespeare Conquest. Acting is taken to the next level.
The scholars participate in a big service project where they share their acting and love of Shakespeare with others in the community as well as taking leadership roles in several productions including a process drama, the Shakespeare play service project and a movie project.
Scholar Projects teach the Leadership Education way of Mentoring
Each Scholar Project is a whole system, not just the study of one subject;
For example, in Shakespeare Conquest we study the English language from a great master, Elizabethan history, poetry, symbolism, reading, speaking, body language, writing papers, interpreting emotions, and most importantly we study people, morals, and characters, with human nature, with weaknesses and strengths. Abilities
Each Scholar Project will help students develop their abilities according to what their next step is on their own level. Each student is unique and has different gifts and challenges.
Skills
Help them learn to read and write persuasively, think scientifically, compute like a mathematician, and the list goes on… These youth are ready for the hard stuff. Well, at least they are ready for their next hard step on the path to becoming who they are meant to be
Knowledge
The more knowledge a person gains the better life can become. Learning raises the standards of greatness to new heights and makes person more able to give back to the community.
